Hi,

I'm writing an essay and want the title to say "now that I'm old" but I'm not sure how to put it.
今は 年を取っています。。。
今 年を取って。。。
もう 年を取っていますから。。。

???
where what comes after is a story about what I did when I was young and what I do now that I'm old.

thanks for your help

I would say 今は大人になりましたから, 今はもう大人ですから, 今はもう若くありませんから or something like that.

Wow! Thanks for the super fast reply.
I didn't want to use 大人 because that means "now I'm grown up" and that sounds kind of boastful. I wanted to say "now i'm old (not necessarily grown up)" to make it a little self deprecatory.

I don't think 49 years old is not 大人... Anyway, the third one would be appropriate, then.

Thankyou! But ummm... the third one of mine? Or yours? o_O

All your examples can be correct since 年を取っている is not wrong. (It sounds to me you are old people, though.) At the same time, all those expressions, including mine, can be wrong. It totally depends on the clause(s) that follows it. My examples are for the structure 今はもう若くありませんから、若いころは~でしたが、…….

Wait! I now realize that you wrote "the title" in your initial post!! Then, I would use もう若くない. Sorry!!
