Are there any other foreigners in Japan that refuse to do unpaid overtime? Surely I'm not alone in this (I hope)
 
Yup, but then I don't work for a Japanese company so I assume I'm not really part of the demographic you're polling.

Unpaid OT might be a norm. Depends on what business you are in, and what your status is (salaried people are expected to do it, for example).

Griping here and hoping to get some sympathy and empathy when we don't know your situation is insulting and potentially dangerous.

Call me crazy, but I highly doubt that many companies are getting away with breaking national law?
