Neo-classical Japanese Bands

If you can listen another music than Metal, then you must check the band AMADEUS, they were very influenciated by classical music (if you didn't noticed by their name ^^; )... their best song is "Kyozou no kami" IMO. And they have a female soprano, so its all good... too bad Amadeus is in stop right now.
And of course Malice Mizer, specially the memoire and Bara no seidou albums... very very baroque influences, if you like J.S Bach, give a try to Malice Mizer.
Same for Moi dix Mois... actually, if you tend to listen more metal, I'll sugest Moi dix Mois before Malice Mizer.
There are more japanese visual bands influenced by classical music, but try this first.

Yes definitely try out Malice Mizer... and maybe Schwarz stein, i am not sure if they can be called neoclassical band, but i like them alot, kinda special without drum and guitar

Well, I supose that in some way ^^,
The only japanese group that I can think of is Lapis lazuli (sp?), they made the OST of the game Guilty Gear X, and they're pretty good...
PS: Schwarz Stein haven't classical influences at all ^^, some gothic church organs here and there maybe... but classical not.

IAKXOS, first, cool avatar. Second, this band isnt Japanese but they dabble deeply into the realm of classical.
Who am I talking about? Why, none other than Dimmu Borgir.
Their albums after 2000 have the strongest presence of classical orientation, so pick those up (ie. Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, Death Cult Armagaddon).

Check out Versailles, French neo-classical metal with a very baroque style. From there Jupiter who is Versailles with out Kamijo on vocals now with Zin.

Years ago we had a large group of members who were into Japanese music and very active. Then , in like a week or two , they all disappeared. I figured maybe they were all killed off by music hateing ninjas.

Same here. Had this thread not resurfaced, i wouldn't have given Malice Mizer a try, which i enjoyed a lot. Especially their "Merveilles" album.
