I am learning Japanese, and am trying to listen to more Japanese music to help me. Can you recommend some Japanese bands or artists I might like?

Here are some artists/genres I like:
  • Electronic: Groove Coverage, DJ Sammy, Cascada, Basshunter, Abba, etc.
  • Symphonic Metal: Nightwish, Within Temptation, Kamelot, Versailles, etc.
  • Classical Crossover: Josh Groban, Il Divo, Hayley Westenra
  • 80's pop/rock: Bonnie Tyler, Rachel Sweet, Pat Benatar, Belinda Carlisle
  • I also like some Jazz.

I'm also open to discovering new types of music. :)

Thanks!

W-inds did the 6th closing for Fairy Tail called "Be As One" and its pretty good! Also Stereopony is great. (sorry all the japanese music I listen to are from animes xD) Also the songs in the anime Shugo Chara that are done by Hoshina Utau (i dont remember her voice actor's name) can all be found on YouTube and they're pretty good.

Try The Sherlocks and The Clockworks, not Japanese bands but you might like their music

You were asked before, and I ask you once again to keep these threads to the discussion of Japanese bands. Thank you!

I've not seen any such request, but your reply has been noted.

Thank you

What are you trying to accomplish? You're not actually discussing anything. You seem to be promoting specific bands in unrelated discussions. This behavior is called spamming.

Ah ok. Well there aren't actually many Japanese people here. So I'm not sure...

Babymetal usually has lyrics that are kind of easier to understand

And One Ok Rock mixes Japanese and English a lot so in some the context will be less difficult to get
