Hi guys,

I am new here, I got here because I need some help with a computer that was given to me recently, it's manyfactured an release only in Japan. I tried to search for the specs online but most of the results getting looked up are in local Japanese text. Is there anyone here who is into computers (specifically gaming computers) who can help me? Thanks in advance

Hi ztpg,

A bit more information would be great. For example, is windows its operating system? If you click on the computer icon on your desktop ( like this: http://www.microsoft.com/library/me...ing/setup/personalize/67367-desktop-icons.gif or Enable-Computer-Icon-On-Windows-8-Desktop-Step1_thumb_zps36447975.jpg Photo by M0mina | Photobucket you will find yourself on a page where you can see your harddisks. Do a right click with your mouse in the white area (so do not click on an icon), and choose the lowest option (should be properties. Look for the word highlighted in blue in this picture: http://tasunke.otakugeeksquad.org/j...context_menu_japanese_properties_selected.png)

This should give you at least the basic information such as Processor type and speed, RAM memory amount, etc.

Or, figure it out first on an English pc or laptop, and then mimic your steps in Japanese: http://www.jappleng.com/jSpot/Sekai...8/windows-7-japanese-control-panel-i10152.jpg

Hi cocoichi, the brand and model of the laptop is toshiba l47. It's a core i5 laptop and aparently has no video card accelerator. I am not sure if this has been modified or if this has a slot for an external graphics card. I am planning to use it for gaming but I cant use it with only vga graphics

is it this one? hyperlab | Rakuten Global Market: SSD powered laptop TOSHIBA dynabook Satellite L47 266E/HD Core i5 560M(2.66GHz) memory 4 G wireless LAN DVD multi 15.6 type liquid crystal Windows 7 If yes, scroll down for the list of specs.

I don't think it is really suited for gaming. Looks more like an office and webbrowsing laptop.
Hi cocoochi, yes that is the laptop. And yes it's not really suited for gaming. I have seen that as well, but that page does not really show the complete specs of the laptop, eg, it did not even mention the type of graphics card. Most of the more reliable sources are in japanese and cannot be accurately translated by GT. I was just hop8ng to know whether the laptop has slots for additional graphics card or not which is not visible in the rakuten page. But thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

This page mentions Intel HD integrated graphics (インテル® HD グラフィックス), which is quite common for laptops.

Unlike desktop computers, laptops cannot be extended with an additional internal graphics card. (Where would it even fit? The inside is already completely packed as it is)
However, with certain adapters it's possible to connect an external graphics card, like this. Of course this makes the whole thing rather unwieldy.
