I think you should go to Tokyo, Aichi, and Kyoto. 👍

Tokyo is a capital city of Japan.
Tokyo Metropolitan Government

Kyoto is a old capital city of Japan. There are many historic spots.

Expo will start in Aichi.

But what kind of spots do you want? historic spots? shopping? folk entertainment?

If you can swing by, try going to Nara, another ancient Imperial capital. There is a famous temple with a huge statue of Buddha. Deers are allowed to roam freely in the city, and you can buy deer biscuits to feed them. Some foreignors mistakenly eat those biscuits themselves. :D
