Hi there,
I’m a karate Sensei and a new Japanese learner and a big fan of the Book of 5 Rings. Im struggling to find how the line ‘understand the way broadly and see it in everything’ was originally written. It’s found in the section titled ‘the benefits of two characters reading “strategy” found in the earth section.
Someone has previously suggested this:

道を廣くしれば、物ごとに出合事也。

I don’t have the knowledge (particularly in kobun) to find it. Any help is appreciated:)

The translation you got is a part of the sentence. The original full sentence is 其道にあらざるといへども、道を廣くしれば、物ごとに出合事也。.

You can see the entire books both in original classical Japanese and modern Japanese translation in the following site.
