A big hi to all out there. Happened to chance upon this site. Find it really interesting with a wide array of opinions about Japan, good and bad.

As for me, I am from Singapore. Wonder if there's anyone from Singapore too? I am chinese, student. As for my interests, I am currently doing research on Japan's international relations. I enjoy J-Pops (not that I know the singers name and song titles), and also J-drama. I been learning Japanese for a while now but still a long way more to go.

Sometimes I think I know quite well how Japanese think, but more than often, they just baffles me.

:D

Hiya 何のため生まれた and welcome. There are several other Singaporean members. Oh, do you have a different name we might be able to call you because 何のため生まれた doesn't come out so well? Anyway, enjoy the forum.

Hi and enjoy the forum 何のため生まれた !

I've also been studying for a few years now, but have always just said 何のために生まれた。:)

well i meant because i cant see it for what it is its just percent signs and other weird characters to me. even though i have the japanese language pack, i can only see the kanji in the japanese language forum. so i was really asking for a ramanji/pinyin name.

That's the way mine is at work and I suppose it has to do with not having fonts enabled for writing.....still it would be nice to at least be able to see the subject lines in the language corner section.

For the time being, nan no tame ni umareta de yondekudasai
BTW, dpes that mean that Japanese fonts cannot be used for messaging?

they can but you cant change your name unless you register a new one. just some people cant see the kanji, but im willing to bet if they cant see the kanji then they cant read japanese anyway. oh and your name isnt many boxes it was like ½ð%\㾸¹ŧ% or something.

Heya~ I'm from Singapore too, and I'm new to this forum... Glad to see fellow Singaporeans here

well, I meant because I can't see it for what it is. It's just per cent signs and other weird characters to me. even though I have the Japanese language pack, I can only see the kanji in the Japanese language forum. so I was really asking for a Raman Ji/pinyin name.

Jean, maybe you can try opening the NJStar Communicator as well? (That's provided you haven't tried that.. sweat) I'm not sure how your com works, but I'm using XP eng os with opera browser, and it works perfectly fine without NJStar or IME (even with, i.e., Netscape browser). But the last time I wanted to view Japanese and Chinese fonts on a school pc that doesn't have the language pack, it didn't work even with the NJStar browser, but when I downloaded NJStar communicator, it works even with i.e. browser.. (^o^;
