Hi, my name is Rick ( Noriki ),

This thread is for people in Melbourne to discuss, introduce, meet and post various interesting events and places to go.
It is open to all that have an interest in Japanese language or people.
The main purpose of this thread is so we can find out good places to go where similar people hang out and find out if those places are any good. It would also be a good thread for people to meet each other at these places.

I see this thread has two posts so far from us guys that cruze the hot nights going from cafe to cafe and stunting on our bikes in between, have you ever been to melbourne? and are you interested in the things we do? but dont worry if your not, as it is ok you can just generaly chat here if you like,. the last thread we had was on the R1 forum, it was so popular just under 6000 replys it was shut down, we all moved to diferent forums that's why im here, I am Japanese born in Australia, that rides a motorbike Road & Club races, loves to meet new people so i thought why not people who have something japanese in common! lol ;)
any good to hear from you, I welcome your reply,,,,,,,,Rick

Well, I'm sorry I crashed into your thread, but I just had to see what kind of motorcycle you had. Yes, I used to ride a lot, but always on the back. My husband(Japanese) is a loyal Yamaha customer. He used to be into motocross for years when he was in Japan and he had a Yamaha then, but I can't remember the model. Now, he's into cruisers and has a Yamaha V-Star Custom(1100 cc). He's saying that he wants to get me a motorcyle now...I'm not too sure about that... :p

Re: that last part, these forums are not mutually exclusive to anyone and generally speaking we don't encourage cliques. None of our members need an "invitation" per se to post a reply if they wish to do so...

"the last thread we had was on the R1 forum, it was so popular just under 6000 replys it was shut down, we all moved to diferent forums that's why im here"

I hope your intention isn't to do the same thing here (staking a claim and setting up shop so to speak) because I notice you keep plugging this thread in most of your posts in an attempt to garner as many responses as you can... This particular forum is for members (both new and old) to meet and greet each other and not to carry on lengthy drawn-out discussions (we have other forums for such things). Also, please refrain from posting the same message/reply in multiple forums or else they may be deleted... Anyways, greetings and welcome. Nice bike btw.
:)

opps but pls dont worry

Ok well maybe I was trying too hard to get people to notice the new thread but not for the reasons of chatting, and only if they had something for the thread and, no, the thread is really what it is and I am Japanese living in Melbourne looking for others with a Japanese/Asian connection, I have lived here all my life and never had the opportunity to meet people of the same interests I think Japan forum is great, and I am not here to abuse it. All my Japanese friends were children of business men they mostly only stayed in Australia for a few years, so you can imagine the little contact I have with Japanese people living here thanks for your welcome and hopefully this thread will be good for all those here and those looking to visit Melbourne. ty

Iron Chef, I noticed you have a ZX12 have you ever heard of the Great Ocean Road here in Victoria, if not here is a link http://www.greatoceanrd.org.au/index.asp
Maybe if your in Victoria one day I can meet up with you and go for a ride,
Oh and sorry about spinning off onto bikes but once i get started it's hard to stop, i was only answering to a post ok LOL, ok sorry again,
and i hope the G.O.Roads is something of interest to you and others reading, Rick

theres also the chinese new years festival in fitzroy tomorrow. i always liked all the shops and restraunts over in springvale too. i forget the names of roads n things, but the shopping center is a block from the train station. just gotta watch out for crazy drivers seems like as soon as people enter that area their drivin skills decrease immediatly. dai tran, the vieatnamese restraunt over there, is good too.
as for the great ocean road its beautiful. the little bit ive driven it, geelong to apollo bay, made me want to drive the entire length of the road. with the gum tree (eucalyptus) forests on one side and the ocean on the other, was just wow.

jeisan, yeah that road is something isn't it,,,,, was at springvale on the weekend, noting much has changed but it's crazier now especially the drivers LOL..

hey there!

i just joined this forum. i did a search for "motorbike melbourne" and came across this forum.

i am currently in melbourne too. i was just thinking about getting a bike and wanted to do some research. what brand, which model etc etc etc. can you help rick? what's a good bike these days? now, that's a difficult question, but i hope you can enlighten me :)

also, i have been studying japanese for a number of years. as i have just moved into the country, i have yet to find a school and resume classes. it would be nice to meet people who have the same interests. anyone else studying and looking for practise partners??? is there a group going at the moment?

okey dokey~!
.sssaru.

hey yes i can help with motorcycles

yes learning is fun you can do schools over a weekend
and then buying is confusing, you may ask me questions but dont worry you only have restrictions for a total of 15 months 3monts on "L's " and 12 months on "P's" so ask away
Rick

hargaR1,

hisashiburi~! i have finally gone for my "L." i think what finally pushed me to do it was the '04 R1. i saw it and it blew my mind away. the underseat exhaust.. with the fairings and everything stripped away, it looked totally unbelievably amazing!

i did my course at HART, Tulla. It was great, the instructors were fantastic. so, ima bike wo sagashite iru. i am thinking of... a Honda Spada. what do you think? thought of a VTR250, but it's too expensive.

can you give me some advice on how to go about looking and buying a bike?

Also, this might be too much to ask, but.. i don't know anyone who ride bikes, let know anything about bikes. so, would you mind if i ask you to accompany me look at bikes?

thanks in advance!

cheers,
.saru.
