Hello,
If it is possible, please, kindly help me to translate following sentences:
どの車もわたしたちの手前でスピードを落し、徐行しながら大きくよけていく。
すれちがう人影はない。
Maybe it is possible to translate both sentences as
Every car before reached us would slow down speed, and while moving slowly tried to avoid [us] as much as possible.
No one passed by towards us.
But I am not sure about usage of も particle. Why it has been used ? Maybe in order to put emphasis like 'whatever car' :?
Another difficulty is 人影. Dictionary says that it means "figure of person" or "shadow". If I replace 人影 with 人 would it change the overall meaning... :?
Ah, small question about directions. In the first sentence cars were moving in same direction as they [protagonist and bear] walks. But in second protagonist mentioned that no one went in opposite direction (i.e. towards them). Please, kindly, correct me if I am wrong... :?
Thank you very much for your kind help.
:sorry:
