looking for phone number of friend in Japan

Hi I just signed up for this so I am not sure if I am using it right. Anyway I live in the U.S. and my friend a year ago moved back to Japan. I need to find his phone number. His name is Yoshihiro Kubo. He lives about 1-2 hours outside of Tokyo.ANy help would be much appreciated. There must be a web site where you can get information on someone in Japan. I found many for the U.S. only but couldn't find anything that would help me find a phone number of someone in Japan. Since I don't really know how to work this site, I would appreciate the people that are willing to help me that they email me. If my email address is not already given it is [email protected]. I'm in the same situation. I'm searching for my mother who lives in Fukuoka-Ken, Fukuoka City, Kyushu, Japan. I was just wondering if you had any luck in finding a web-site to get a person's telephone number.

Same here pretty much. I had a short time with a friend who went to school with me before moving back to Japan. No idea what prefecture he is in, nor his fathers first name. But mt friends name is Hiro Nakagawa. He is probably in his early 20's.

Same as me too! I have spent nearly 4 years looking for Mr Harry Fujishiro. It's annoying that they have so many websites in the U.S but, none for the Japanese.
I think the only way you can find somebody is by checking their registration at the town hall in the city that they last lived in. All Japanese people have to have this resgistration, or be registered somewhere. I had no luck as Harry does not hold a Japanese passport. he is Japanese/American.

You can't find phone number except correct full name and addres in Japan. What is worse, missing person must be open to the public registration in telphone company in his/her area.
In case of mobile phone, it's impossible to know...
