Hello friends!

I am at the point in my studies where I can read basic children's books, and I'm trying to work on my listening comprehension.

What are some good resources? I have tried an NHK podcast but I was overwhelmed, any suggestions that speak somewhat slowly and use basic words?

Thanks!!

hate to say it, but anime isn't too bad. It's usually chock-full of specialized vocabulary, but it at least gets you listening to the language. Live action drama and variety shows are even better, as they are generally closer to real-life situations.

just realized how silly it is to say that variety shows are "closer to real life situations..." but at least it's full of natural paced Japanese, and is full of cultural references which may be invoked in daily conversation, just as TV shows play their role in daily conversation everywhere else.
