Well, I'm a Japanese major, and I'm wondering if anyone knows how hard it would be to make a living with this alone. Is anyone here working in the field of translation or something of the sort? I honestly don't know what I will do with the degree. I just always thought that Japanese was fun and easy so I went with it ^____^

Probably the easiest route to get your foot in the door would be to either get a job as independent ALT or through the government sponsored JET program. These type of jobs are by far the most common and easily accessible (assuming you meet the requirements). After polishing your language skills for a couple years (and getting that Kanji under your belt) as well as making some very useful contacts along the way, you could probably look for more specific types of work that you're interested in pursuing.
