Hi,
I received a vase for Christmas from my aunt. She bought it at a flee market, here in Spain. It's very pretty and as far as I know, from the decorations, it looks Japanese. It has a couple of Kanji on the bottom, which I can't quite make out. I was wondering if anybody could shed some light on were this vase was made and if it's of any historical significance (you never know)

In terms of the historical context behind the vase, I'm not sure - someone else might be able to help you there.

The kanji on the bottom of the vase reads 日本 which, I'm sure you know, means 'Japan'.

EDIT: The symbol above it looks like the rising sun.

This website might be able to help you:
Japanese Porcelain Marks

The symbol looks a lot like;

which, according to the site, might indicate that it comes from the early Shōwa period (used to cover the Shōwa reign pre-1945).

Might be worth mentioning I know next-to-nothing about vases, so this is all coming from searching Google 😅
