Hi all,

As the title states I bought my father a beautiful...truly beautiful Sashimi knife. When I ordered it I asked the company whether they would ask the master for a signature or something similar.

To my great pleasure he sent a great document with a hand print and some Japanese writing, is there any chance anyone would be able to translate it for me?

Thanks in advance!

Suishin shippu

Yanagiba 9 sun, Aoniko, Honkasumi

Doi Keijiro

It's basically just a description of the knife.

Yanagiba (type of sashimi knife)
9 sun (old unit of length, about 27 centimeters)
Aoniko (its a kind of fortified bronze/steel)
Honkasumi is the type of finish, the type of polish that was given to the knife.

Doi Keijiro is the smith who made it. Suishinshippu is the brand of knife (the brand-name of this series of knives made by this smith).
