Does anyone know of a way for me to watch japanese music television (like Japanese MTV)?
Maybe a internet site. Where I live I only get Korean and Indian "music countdown shows".
I just want to see a variety of japanese music videos
and i've heard lots of their metal (and jrock) and lots of their pop (as in one female singer) but I can't seem to find any of the music that's supposively popular in Japan (besides Puffy Amiyumi).
So I figured that if I could find some way to watch a Japanese Music channel, I would have it made.

Thanks much. Haven't tested the site yet. But I'm sure it'll bring me one step closer to my ultimate goal.

If you get the latest (full) version of WinAmp, you can select several media-channels. One of them broadcasts JPop video's. Looks pretty good, although on my end the stream isn't consistent.

I havn't found the Jpop station yet. But this is great. How come I didn't know of this already.
Thanks very much Twisted.
DAI JYOU VUI!!!

Hmm, i think it's not running at the moment. A few months back you'd just type in "JPOP" in the search bar and it came up. Seems to be gone now.

Well, you can always check out the newsgroup alt.binaries.sounds.jpop, which doesn't just have sounds. It also has video's. Often they post whole shows, like Music Station. One word of warning though. The Morning Musume rate is very high in that newsgroup.

Thanks again.
I went to alt.binaries.sounds.jpop from usenet-replayer. I'm not sure if I'm using it right or if I'm at the right site. All I can find are album covers and three sound files.
Is it the kind of site I check every day and every once in a while something new will pop up?

I use Xnews for downloading from usenet: Newsguy.com
Very good for binaries, and also supports yenc.

Whether you can actually download anything depends on your news-server. With usenet, files get broken up in many parts and are only downloadable when they've all come together on the news-server that you're using.
Good news-servers, like the commercial Super-News, leave these parts on their server for several weeks. Most internet-providers with their own news-server don't have much capacity and usually delete parts after one or two days already. The problem with that is that the final parts might not have arrived yet before the first parts are deleted and if that's the case you can't download any completed files.

Here's a good site that explains how usenet works: Usenet Help

I check alt.binaries.sounds.jpop usually twice a week. There's always something new, but it might not always be something that you're looking for.

Thanks again. I just downloaded xnews and I'm sure I'll figure it out. After reading that webpage I now have a good idea of what it is and, even more so, what it isn't.
