Japanese trading house, Sumitomo Corp., will set up a wholly owned subsidiary in Ha Noi, on October 1, expecting to reap benefits derived from Viet Nam's deregulation initiative.

In an announcement on September 18, Sumitomo said the unit, named Sumitomo Corp. Viet Nam LLC, will have capital of 10 million USD, Japan's Jiji Press reported.

Once completed, the subsidiary will look to receive orders for infrastructure projects, such as those for power generation, water treatment and transport network construction.

Sumitomo currently has representative offices in Ha Noi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, according to Jiji Press.
