Thousands take exams for fast track jobs at Japan Post

Thousands of people nationwide took part in examinations Sunday for administrative positions within Japan Post, the state-run corporation that was launched April 1 to overtake mail delivery, postal savings and insurance services from the government. While Japan Post is offering such jobs for only 50 slots, more than 15,000 sat for the exams held at 28 locations, including universities such as Meiji Gakuin University in Tokyo's Minato Ward. The exams, the first of their kind to be held by Japan Post, are for people who will become candidates for executive posts at the corporation.
