i am very new to japanese, i've only taken two high school classes, and they didn't teach kanji. so i have to use about 3 apps simultaneously to translate text sometimes.
someone posted a picture of something that looked like mochi, and they called it "suama". so i asked, "すあまは何ですか。餅のように見えます" (was that correct? "what is suama? it looks like mochi") and they replied "すあまはお餅のような和菓子です。甘いよ!和菓子屋さんに売っています。" it took me a while to figure out [so many kanji i dont know *-*] but i came up with, "suama is a candy similar to mochi. it is sweet! the candy store sells it." im not sure about if it's "the candy store" or "the man at the candy store" because of the '-san' at the end?
sorry! like i said, ive got no clue what im doing .~. thank you!

thank you so much! that makes their next reply more understandable, too.
