Dear native English speakers,
I have some questions.

1 Would both be used with the same meaning?
(a) I was told that I should help other people.
(b) I was said that I should help other people.

2 I believe (a) would be all right. But how about (b)? Would it sound right, too?
(a) The survey asked people how much they trusted their own country.
(b) The survey asked people how much they trust their own country.

Thanks in advance.

1. (b) is incorrect.
2. Both are OK to me.
