Hi!
My name is Thirsa, I'm currently 23 and I've been born and raised in the small, rainy parts of Europe called The Netherlands. I have been working as a photographer for some years now and I had the luxury of finishing two degrees which gave me a lot of great oppertunities, one of them being able to travel to Japan for the first time two years ago.

Japan has been an interest of mine for as long as I can remember. I started by listening to some Japanese bands and I gradually became more interested in the culture and language which were completely opposite from anything I know to be 'normal' in my home country. The last couple of years I have also gotten more interested in kitsuke which has had some consequenses for my closet space (and luggage whenever I head back from Japan). Last week I returned from a trip to Japan in which I had the pleasure of spending four weeks in and around Tokyo. I have met lovely people, have seen beautiful places such as Nikko and Kawagoe and decided that what ever it takes: I want to be able to live, study or work abroad in Japan for a certain amount of time. I found this forum by looking for information about the MEXT program and here I am. I am totally open to sharing my knowledge and experiences about Japan as well, although I am not sure if I can add much value to things that other people might know much more about. Feel free to ask me anything, I am always open to a good conversation.

Thank you for reading and hope to see you around!
