I am a new member on this forum. I am a French teacher based in China for the moment...
How did I come to this forum? Well, follow the girl...

I have been rejected by a japanese girl, it made me sad...
Still I am interested in this culture, all I know are probably only myths and misrepresentations of Japanese and their culture. So I decided to embark myself on a journey to discover this culture.

What is Behind this girl's smile? I want to know more about her culture, I want to seduce her, try again. Is my attraction to her only the result of western myths about japanes women? Is all this but a mere reason to want to know more about a people, its history? Maybe...

But I am only at the beginning of my quest...

I think I will like this community...
I am going to begin learning a bit of japanese. I browsed the net looking for good websites. Do you guyz happen to know a good one you would recommend to a beginner?

If this question has already been asked( I would expect so), maybe one of the admins could direct me to the right thread...

There are some things I would like to tell someone, but I can't wait until I know japanese to say them. Would anybody be as to kind as to translate a letter for me? I am going back to France pretty soon, so I would need it to be done before this Christmas...I will send a nice Eiffel tower key chain to the good samaritan...( no it's not a bribe )

As my knowledge could serve me properly, I don't think you need to learn Japanese language to understand the culture; although it is an advisable approach, depends upon how you intend to be involved.
