Hello again,
As usual, I'm looking at swords online and I found this one. Build (under the rust) seems poor, but does not seem to be industrial showato since no armory seal is visible. So I wonder, is the mei verifiable?
Kindly let me know your reading of this (sorry this is the only clear photo of the nakago) so I can search the smith's signature, if possible.

I will deeply appreciate any and all feedback you care to give on this. Thank you!

Hi, Totoribe. Thank you for your help, as always =)
Do you think it could be miyairi Akihira/Shohei ?

Oh, boy. He was a relatively famous tosho, one of the few that pass shinsa. His blades (gendaito as US collectors call them) are traditionally forged from tamahagane and of good quality.
Even with my pathological optimism, I don't think this blade is recoverable, it was left to rust for too long. Fatal flaws all over. Still it's a work of art and a piece of history. If it were a Kamakura I know most would try to rescue it, but a shinto?
Might still try it, a "best effort" restoration and keep it for the family collection. Give the old warrior what dignity we can.
Gosh I'm depressed :(
