hi!

i have an interest in ceramics and other art, and i would appreciate it if someone could help me identify characters as they come up. i don't know much Japanese.

i know this stuff can be tricky to read, so for inspiration, i'll dump a non-exhaustive list of possible characters (including names and name elements) that could appear in these posts:

this relates to a family of artists.

family name: 山田
artist nickname (passed down across generations): 常山

山田常山
小常山
初, 二, 三, ... 代 (or 世?)

possibly the name of an engraver/carver:
吉原葭州

some given names:
濱次郎

絵夢

i believe...
upper right: 常
lower right: 山
left side: no clue

thanks for looking!

another one if anyone's up for a challenge ;)

i'm reaching, but..
upper right: 小
lower right: 常
upper left: 山 ?
lower left: ???

these are guesses. i could be way off on this stuff. i'm terrible at recognizing characters.

edit: after searching more, i think i found another chop with the same characters:

bonus points if you can actually read the calligraphy on the right lol.

it's also possible that this stamp features the same characters. i don't know (the lower left looks kinda different to me), but maybe it helps someone see?
