Hello,
I'm looking translation help for the text in a martial art uniform. I assume it is written Japanese. Is it just random characters of a phrase?
Any information would be helpful :)

真理香

Looks like someone's name. It could be the full name 'Shinri Kaori' or just the personal name 'Marika', among other possibilities.

99% sure it belonged to a girl named Marika, whose mother wrote it for her.

I can believe that Marika is this most likely name (and either Marika or Kaori would be a girl, almost certainly) ... but why do you think her mother wrote it for her?

Because I would expect an adult to have used her surname and I doubt that a kid young enough to be using her first name there could write that well.

I also suspect this originated outside Japan.

なるほど。。。
Thanks, that makes sense.

I assume from your conclusion also that 'Shinri' is a really rare family name. (I took the two examples of all the names it could be because Kaori and Marika are both decently common names, but I don't really know about family name frequencies).
