Hello, native English speakers.

I have another question.

Which one would be used?
1) He wants this work finished by the end of this month.
2) He wants this work to be finished by the end of this month.
3) He wants this work to finish by the end of this month.
4) He wants this work done by the end of this month.
5) He wants this work to be done by the end of this month.

Thanks in advance.

Not 3, others okay. Try using end.

"end...end" sounds a little off stylistically, but change the time phrase:

He wants this work to end by the end of this month.
He wants this work to end as soon as possible.
He wants this work to end by the 31st.

If I may....
Using "to end" may indicate that the work will stop, for whatever reason, but using "to be done" means that the work has been finished.
