Genuine flag?

I came across this flag from someone selling a variety of Japanese war relics. Usually when I see these flags they are covered in writing and scrawled all over, and honestly looks a bit too clean. To my understanding, if genuine it belonged to Mr. Muraoka, which I read is a common name, and the big kanji is wishing him luck and safety.

Thoughts?

Thank you in advanced.

Yes, that's a Japanese flag.
Thank you, its an actual wartime flag? Have you seen similar luck flags like this one in the past? As I said, everything I see has been covered in writing.

I have no way of knowing.

It looks like somebody got one ready for a guy's signing party and then it just didn't get used. No idea other than that.

Thank you very much for your help. I really should get back to my studies so I can help others as in the future.
