Just wanted to give a shout to everyone in the Atlanta, Georgia (USA) area, or anyone who can pick up WRAS 88.5FM. From 6-8pm on July 4th, there will be a two hour Gackt special, including several rare and difficult to find songs and collaborations (for example, Gackt's contribution to the Hideki Saijo Tribute album Kids Wanna Rock!). What better way to celebrate American independence than to listen to lots and lots of Gackt?!

If you live in the Atlanta area, you can pick up Nippon Music Champ every Sunday at those times, and even make requests for your favorite music. (I'm not the DJ or anything, just a fan. I wouldn't be surprised if the DJ posted here, though...)

oh my. kind of makes me want to drive down to Atlanta. :)

Wonder if Gackt's on other U.S. radio stations.

Well... just to add my 200 yen, I've played Gackt many times before on my Asian pop radio show. Radio 1/2 airs on Sunday mornings from 6-9 AM Eastern U.S. time, as I broadcast out of upstate New York. The show can be heard on the Internet as well, as our station has a live feed through ShoutCast. Here's the vital stats if anyone's interested (you'll have to do the time conversions yourself for your part of the world):

Radio 1/2: Anything Goes Broadcast Arts
Sundays 6-9 AM EDT
WSPN 91.1 FM (Radio Skidmore College)
Listen on the 'Net: www.shoutcast.com, search for "WSPN"

I won't be on this weekend (traveling for the July 4th holiday) but will be back bright and early Sunday, July 11th. I mostly play J-Pop/J-Rock of all types and from all times (normally 1960's to present) with a smattering of Korean, Hong Kong, Taiwanese and Indian pop music as well.

Hope to see you there...

🙂

What begins?
Is it lunch time yet? :?
I wonder if Gackt talks as well as Daemon Kogure does in Engrish? :?

You know I was wondering what this gackt guy was about. So I started to download from a site a member put up. I decided what the heck let me buy a cd or two. I was hooked. Not by his looks but his muisc. The piano sounds. The guitar and violin. Each instrument is clearly defined. I know some people dont like him but I feel in love with his music. It makes me happy. It makes me dance. I now have all his cds except for the collections but that will soon be mine. Now I am buying his concerts on dvd. I would love to see him preform one day especially here in the US. I believe that he is a great artist and that is my opinion no matter what anyone says.

Gackt has collections other than The Sixth Day...?
*thinks*
I don't remember any.

Anyway.

Gackt is okay. His quality of music has dropped in the past 2 years or so, but he's still okay. I'm just not buying every release like I used to, and I probably never will again - I used to buy without even hearing a sample, cause I ~knew~ it would be good, but that stopped when it stopped being good every time =(
