I didn't know where to put this, and there may be another thread out there with this, but I have found that I find so many cute/funny/strange translations of Japanese to English. I thought it would be fun to see what other people have run across. It doesn't have to be any specific language, but translations would be nice. I am certainly not picking on the Japanese who translated the writings, just the parts that give me a smile. I am happy that there are translations! Here are some...
Child Beef - I think it meant chilled beef
toodle your horn with vigor - in a book about driving
Please be kindly informed that we UNCLEANED your room today. - got that one today as I had my door locked.
preserved toast
Swellfish dinner course - assuming shellfish
Males are handled at the front desk. 😊

Not really a strange translation so much as picking the wrong word:

アメリカの体育館まで行きたいんですが。
Amerika no tai'ikukan made ikitai'ndesu ga.
"I'd like to go to the American gym."

Should have been アメリカの大使館まで行きたいんですが -- Amerika no taishikan made ikitai'ndesu ga.
"I'd like to go to the American Embassy."

Those two words sound fairly similar. Luckily I caught my mistake right after I said it. Also luckily the woman I was getting directions from said アメリカの領事館? (Amerika no ryôjikan? -- "The American Consulate?"), otherwise I would have been sent to Tokyo.
