Events when IME is used

I am having a problem with IME.We are localizing a call center application into japanese.
In that application all the validations like "Length Check" are done
on "OnChange" Event.
But when i type japanese characters using IME "onChange" event is not fired and validations are not called.
How to avoid this problem??
Any solution???
