On dutch schools they teach the dutch were the first europeans to trade and have diplomatic relations in Japan since 1609 do they teach that also in Japan or is it a different story?

I'm not sure what exactly is taught in Japanese textbooks, but the Portuguese were the first Europeans to set foot on Japanese soil and to establish trade contacts, later joined by the Spanish and the Dutch.

Later on, the Dutch - and the Chinese - were the only foreign powers allowed to trade with Japan.

The first Europeans in Japan were Portuguese. I guess it depends on your what you mean by diplomatic relations, since the Dutch were able to maintain much better relations.

It's all pretty much common knowledge, if you studied, but I couldn't say where it comes up in schools here. Dejima is a tourist attraction today.

Dutch were in Japan for money, and the Portuguese for souls. So Japan liked Holland better.
