what is Difference between these sentences
1- ほんをよんでいます。 and ほんをよみます。

or

2- たべています。 and たべます。

-te + iru is the progressive tense. "[I am] reading a book" versus " read a book".

It is used like when an action has occurred and continues to occur. For example, "I love you" would be "anata o aishite imasu" (from ai suru).
