皆さんこんにちは、
I am trying to mimic the English saying....
We are complete opposites. (meaning our personalities or manners are very different)

I'm using

父の性格に比べると私は正反対です

As in

my father and I are complete opposites

よろしくお願いします

For my father and I are complete opposites, I'd say
私と父は正反対(の性格)です。

Pretty sure the most natural way to say this is 私と父の性格は正反対です。

私と父との性格は正反対です。if you really have to.

In the first example, I felt that 比べると and 正反対 do not get well together.
(When comparing something, something gradual sounds more natural, say, 父の性格と比べると私はずっとおだやかです/少し頑固です for instnce.)

As Mike pointed out, 性格 is not the only thing that can be "completely opposite" between you and your father.
Once sentence is hardly a context, but if you are talking about 性格, you can omit it. If the sentence is stand alone or the beginning of your talk, you need to say 性格 to make it clear what you are talking about.

e.g. 家族だからといって性格が同じとは限りません。
例えば、父と私は正反対です。

Thanks Everyone,
Compared to my original attempt 私と父との性格は正反対です is a more effective way.
What is that old quote? Why use two words when one will do......

Undrentidesan, those examples you gave were really helpful. There were two grammar points you used.

だからといって and とは限りません。

While it may be that.....
Not necessarily......

Great grammar points. It's amazing the different things you can learn on this forum from just one question.
