1 Mr. White should have arrived in New York by now.

2a She might have been here while I was away.
2b She might have come here while I was away.

3a Mike isn't here yet. He must have missed his train.
3b Mike hasn't been here yet. He must have missed his train.
3c Mike hasn't come here yet. He must have missed his train.

4 That old man must have been a doctor. He knows a lot about diseases.

5 Fred can't have solved this problem. He's really bad at math.

6 I can't find my bike anywhere. Someone must have stolen it.

7 They may/might not have known that Sony is a Japanese company.

8 That girl may have seen the accident yesterday.

9 Tom should have already left home by now.

10 They may/might not have known that this machine is very expensive.

11a Mary can't/couldn't have been here yesterday. She's in China now.
11b Mary can't/couldn't have been here yesterday. She's now in China.

12 Some of you must have read this book.
