"A Handbook For Travellers In Japan" 4th edition printed 1894. Anyone ever come across one of these old books ?? It has 26 tissue paper fold-out maps and drawings. It's a real hoot to read details of Japan from a foreigner's point of view before 1900.
To travel from Liverpool, England to Yokohama, Japan only cost 68 Pounds for first class. You traveled to Canada, took a train to the west coast and took a ship to Japan; 4 to 6 weeks one way. It talks about getting around using jinrikisha and 4 man palanquin or horseback.
I just wondered if many of these books are left out there for others to enjoy.
