Hi all! Kon'nichi wah.
As is seems to be customary on this forum, a little personal backround. My interests in Japan are from people I have met recently mainly. Being both Japanese has instigated a desire more about the culture to better understand and communcate with them. But I've always had a fascination in all martial arts, philosophy, and sashimi. Now I am getting new perspectives which is great!
I am 2nd gen Polish in UK. 26 and plan to live in Poland for a while to understand my own history better, But my good friends Wakana & Utaka have influenced me to more want to experience life in Japan first hand. My big sister is Akido champion also, has lived in Tokyo for nine months on some met police training course, nothing but Akido for nine months. That sounds very appealling, only way to learn the art properly. The politics in UK prevent true understanding I think in our clubs. Only thing keeping me here is my job, time to start saving I guess...
Learning more words and more culture every day and enjoying it a great deal. The Japanese people seem very sensative and kind those I've met, I think the 'west' can learn much from them but the opposite also rings true, it must.
I start my journey searching for perfect balance between body and mind. The path seems to head to Japan it would seem...
Today's new word: SAIKO !!
