SHIMONOSEKI, Japan 窶 Japan's attempts to resume commercial whaling under the International Whaling Commission (IWC) are not aimed at massive whale catches, the head of the Japanese delegation said.
Japan's IWC Commissioner Minoru Morimoto said although the country wants to pave the way for the resumption of commercial whaling at an annual IWC meeting that began here on Thursday, it only wants to make commercially viable the supply of whale meat to a small part of the population keen to eat whale.
