Anyone tried Siren for the PS2?

Just picked it up used on the cheap at Blockbuster. I like the game itself, but the beginning is waaaaay to tedious. It seems that the game is broken up into hours, or different times of the day, each chronicling a different character's experience in the story.

The only problem with that is that when I am told that I have to go to a specific place 17,000 times, I wanna shoot myself!

Another problem with it is the localisation. It was localised in England first, and Sony US took the easy, lazy way out and used the horrid voice acting from the British release and crammed it over here.

Sorry to those of you that are across the pond, but I don't think that any of the V/A's save for one or two could join the 5th grade Shakespearian actor's association, it's just that bad! In fact, I would choose the horrible voice acting from the very first pressing of Resident Evil on the PSX over that of Siren any day! "BLOOD???!!!??? I..... HOPE...... IT...... ISN'T...... CHRIS' BLOOD......" "Baaaaaaaaaaarrrrryyyyyyy....."

*UGH*

I woul have liked to hear everything in Japanese with some subtitles for shits and giggles.

Cool game still though.

Graphics are damned good, especially the faces of the characters.

Plus it's set in the 70's or 80's.

I bought it myself, It is a good game and like you said it really really pisses you off. Have you beat it yet? cause I kinda stopped playing it for a while.

No, I haven't beaten it yet. I am having a hard time finding the drive to keep doing the same thing with different characters 6,000 times :p

Ugh. One day.

LOL I ended up going down stairs grabbing a Mountain Dew and playing battlefield instead lol

Well, I was going to this morning.. but I had gotten Front Mission 4 on PS2 and Max Payne 2 for X-box, both for 27 bucks used at Blockbuster so I decided to pop FM 4 in... Wow.

Excellent game.

Max Payne 2 definitely fared much, much better than its PS2 brother. Played the PS2 version and hated it, put the Box version in and love it.

Never tried any of the Front Mission games, Herd alot about em but never tried em. As for max payne I think it gets kinda old cause its the same thing over and over. Dive and shoot

Oh, it does. But I'm playing t for the feeling of the story. It's interesting.

Man, now I really stuck in Front Mission 4. I think I had mis-equipped all of my units earlier in the game, and now I seem to be paying the price. But each time I try the stage, I get 1 mech closer to victory.

BTW, I don't know if I will even keep Siren. I really want to see how the game ends, but it is just such a large hump to experience that early in the game to want to pass it.

I can return it to Blockbuster and get either NHL 2K5 or Gungrave: Overdose for one of the systems.

Hmmm,

I just want to see the little girl in it. She looks crazy. But it doesnt pump me up enough to even play it so I doubt ill see her. :'(

I dunno really, Fatal Frame was good ecspecially #2 but I havent really gottem far enough into Siren to know. It is pretty good though. ☝

Yeah, Fatal Fram was a hoot. I like that whole 70's-80's Japanese thing they have going on in that and Siren. Fatal Frame 2 was astounding as well.

Ant
