I have this bracelet with four Kanji on it. I found out one myself, but I can't find the other three at all. I was hoping someone here will know them. I drew them the best I could in MS Paint. They're not that good... but hopefully they're still readable. Does anyone know what these Kanji are and also, what they translate in English to?

Thanks.

There are numerous meanings and readings for these, but generally speaking the second ('tsuu' or 'tou') translates to pass/go through. The third is 'toku' and means virtue. Not sure about the first. Is it just Chinese?

Konnichiwa Johnathan-san!

The first Kanji is "Hou" and means treasure(precious thing). The second and third is already said by Elizabeth.;)

NANGI

Well Elizabeth, there's a chance it may be Chinese, but I don't think so. I read somewhere that even though Japanese "borrowed" Kanji from Chinese, that a lot of them aren't EXACTLY the same. I know pretty much nothing about Chinese other than from when I used to watch Kung Fu: The Legend Continues... -_-;

Also, the first Kanji on my bracelet is "justice" or "righteous" (see attached image below). That has many readings, as most Kanji do... sei, shou, tadashii... By the way, I got it from a website, (Jeffrey's Japanese <-> English Dictionary Server) I didn't make it myself like the other three Kanji. By the way, did I do good on those?! I bet it looks like a five-year-old made it. -_-;

And lastly, thank you both! Now everytime I have a question about Japanese, I can come here! I love this forum! You guys are awesome! Wow, my post was long...

Anyway, thanks!

I did a little research. I guess the thing on my bracelet IS a Chinese coin. Maybe that would explain why the Kanji are a little different than what they look like in Japanese.

If he four letters on the coin reads 正德通寶, a currency (coined) during the Zhengde 正德 reign years (1368-1398) of Zhu1 Hou4zhao4 朱厚照, Emperor Zhengde 正德, Yi4di4 毅帝, Wu3zong1 武宗, the 10th emeperor of the Ming 明dynasty.

正德通寶
