Anyone know about these so-called 'Japanese peanuts'?

I don't know if they exist in Japan, but there are these kind of peanuts that are roasted and they are called Japanese Peanuts in Mexico. Do any of you know if they are from Japan whatsoever? or, have any of you ever heardof it?

If so, yes, we have this type of roasted peanuts with crunchy shells. The shells come in various flavors like this:


I don't know where they come from originally, but if they are called "Japanese," my guess is that this type of snack was introduced by Japanese immigrants who settled in North America.

Yes, thank you, that's exactly the kind of peanuts I was talking about. I was just curious why the name: Japanese Peanuts, that's all.
