This belongs to someone in the States that I know and he'd be most grateful of any help of what it is and what it may say. It does look more Chinese then Japanese though.

Thanks guys.keith 1.jpg keith 2.jpg keith 3.jpg

Decorative lamp missing the part that holds the candle or whatever it used for light.

Thanks guys.
I gave my friend the link here for he can be updated of any new post.

So probably it doesn't have a real collector's value to it?

You'd have to ask somebody who knows about those things.

If it were mine, I'd try to get somebody to fabricate a new insert for the bottom and use it as a lamp.

It would be pretty easy, I think, for someone to make a nice base for it to sit on and maybe have some kind of LED lamp going up inside it. That way the cord wouldn't be noticeable. Cord placement would be a problem if it were made into a hanging lamp.

It may also have been a hanging incense burner, and would make a very cool one again if it just had the missing insert.

I'll find out today to see if he still has it. From what I was told he buys stuff and then tries to resale stuff on the net. Thanks Mike.

If I had known that to begin with I wouldn't have bothered answering at all.
