Ok this guy got killed and now his wife is selling some stuff and this car is for sale. She told me it was a rare car but she doesn't know how much its worth.

So can anyone help me out? I don't know how many mileage it has or if its rotten. So let's just say its in good shape.

Oh ya, I don't want to rip off the women either, so give me a faire price and where you got this from.

Thanks in advance!

You Don't Have To Buy It !

The BLUE BOOK that is. Usually all the book stores have them in the auto book & mag section. Another spot is you local library, they usually have a copy. If your newspaper is big enough, there may be similer years & models listed that give you an idea. Sometimes a call to your local car dealer will give you the info. Good luck !!
Nothing like a car to pick up girls & impress you buddies!

Frank

Thanks Frank, I did search on google and found some info.

- I don't need a car to pick up the ladies :p

If it's manual transmission and unmodified with low mileage and in excellent condition (well-maintained, no accidents, etc), then you can definitely get more than any book says it's worth. There were far fewer 1993 and later models made than 1991-1992, but the 1993 model year introduced many improvements over the earlier ones, so there is a high demand for them. In addition, these days there are so precious few that haven't been modified and abused, so if the car is all original in good condition that will increase its desirability.

btw, a quick search on Autotrader shows only 35 1993+ MR2's in all of North America...
Autotrader - page unavailable

Wo! 35 in North America! The old lady only used this car for church, so its in perfect condition and has less then 20 000 mileage.

Thansk for the info!!

Holy crap! I really wanted one of these cars a few years ago, but I gave up after a few months because it seemed nearly impossible to find a nice one. Of course I can't buy it now, but do you have any pictures of it? Even in Japan it's rare to see an MR2-t in such pristine condition.

The lady is asking to much, so I wont be buying it. I don't have any pictures sorry, if I saw this post a little earlier I would have taken some when I went there.

How much is she asking? That is a car that is something I would not pass up, as long as the body is in atleast good condition. MR-2 -T's are dreamy.

She's asking 17 000$ Canadian. I presently own a 500$ car lol, thats a big step in prices.

Sure is, nothing a loan and a downpayment couldn't fix though. But I see your problems 17,000 is alot of money to just throw around.

My MR2

Hi Gang,
I was doing an internet search and came across this thread. I own a 1993 MR2 (Non-Turbo). It has 20,800 miles on it. It has been garaged its entire life. The only thing that I've done to it is replace the battery, tires, and changed the oil. My son has turned 16 and is learning to drive. Sports cars and 16 year olds don't mix, so we've decided to sell it. Can anyone offer some advice on how to place an appropriate value on it? It has 5 speed; Air Conditioning; Power Steering; Power Windows; Power Door Locks; Tilt Wheel
Cruise Control; AM/FM Stereo; Cassette; Single Compact Disc; Premium Sound; Front Side Air Bags; T-Bar Roof; Rear Spoiler; Cloth seats. It is red.

Thanks.
Bob.

Hm, maybe check the blue book, decide on a fair price.. And post it here I may be one that has interest in buying.

Yeah, that is the problem what is fair?? KBB says 5400 for value. But if you go the autotrader sight mentioned above there are prices from 4K up to 12K. How does one figure out what is right? A gear head friend of mine says that the low mileage is really hard to judge.

Thanks.
Bob.

You could always try putting it up for sale on ebay motors. That should find you the market value pretty quickly.
