Hello,

1. This is a description of a text:

横浜と東京に25店ある『有隣堂』書店の社長、篠崎孝子さんの1970年代の話です。

I understand most of this OK, but I am not clear whether 話 means "story about 篠崎孝子さん" or "the words of 篠崎孝子さん" (i.e. actually what 篠崎孝子さん said or wrote).

2. 当時サービスの面でワースト・スリーに入っていた三つの職場で働く人達に共通の態度は何ですか。

My translation: "In those days, what did the workers in the three industries ranked worst for customer service have in common?"

Does サービスの面 mean "face of service" in the sense of "service that is presented to / visible to the customer"?

3. Two friends meet up:

上岡: あ、足立くん!
足立: さっちゃ~ん。

Is さっちゃ~ん a familiar form of 上岡's first name? Or is it some kind of greeting?

4, The speaker is starting to explain why he's had a hard day at work:

それが、俺の会社って客が周りにいつもいるじゃない。

My translation: "Where I work, there are always lots of customers around."

a) Would the meaning change much / at all if って was replaced by は?

b) What is じゃない adding? (Yeah, I know, another question about じゃない. Sorry.)

1)
The former. If it's 篠崎孝子さんの話です without 1970年代の, it can be the latter. Although お話しです would be more common for the case.

2)
面[めん] means "aspect/side/field" here.

3)
The former. Her name would be さちこ, さちよ, or like that.

4) a)
No. The meanings are almost the same. って sounds more colloquial, though.

b)
For confirmation, just like "as you know".

Thanks Toritoribe

So, in #2, does サービスの面で mean "as far as service is concerned" (lit. "in the aspect/field of service")?
