The context is a teacher seeing a child in a tree.
木を見上げてそっくり返った
I'm not sure to understand it, like looking up at the tree with her body or head bent backwards?

(Should I open another thread?) In the same context 先生はやさくにらんでいる。
I can't figure out what yasa(ku) is,優?

No I copied-pasted it but I wondered if indeed there weren't a shi missing because it looks just weird to me.

Copy-pasted what from where? It is possible you're copying somebody else's mistake..

Yes, it's possibly a mistake, it's from someone else who copied it from a book, it made no sense to me.
