To me, 口実 is an excuse a person/entity takes advantage of, for something you want to do or don't want to do.

言い訳 is an excuse you give to justify what you do/say or not do/say now or in the past.

(He did not study, using illness as an excuse.)
(He explained that he did not study because he was ill.)

I hope this gives you an idea of the difference!
I'm not really sure I explained it sufficiently... 😅

Can anyone tell me what's the difference between this 2?

I think 「口実」 is a excuse that sounds like the truth or plausible, and 「言い訳」 is an irresponsible excuse.

Thank you nangi san but in this case, it seems to contradict what epigene explained...

Not entirely. I think 口実 can be the truth / plausible (but doesn't have to be).
Whereas I think as 言い訳 nearly always implies and irresponsible excuse or lie as Nangi said.

Epigene is certainly right that 口実 is something used as an excuse while
言い訳 is actual asking to be excused.

For example

The man pleaded self-defense.

The man その男 used as an excuse 口実にした self defense 自己防衛

vs.

Let me say a few words by way of apology

Please ください let me apologise 言い訳させて a little ちょっと
