Hey again guys,

Now this sentence from the 2004 JLPT 2 test is bugging me. I can't figure it out at all.

もし失敗しても、初めてなんだからしかたがない。

Is the なんだ part the same as なのです?

Even if I fail, it was inevitable from the beginning? Ehh?? I'm definetely not parsing this correctly.

なんだからー>~なのだから (because....)
初めてなのだから means because it's my/your first time.

Ahh I see. So it's more like, "and even if you'll fail, because it's your first time it's inevitable"

Thanks :)

Does this make sense in English ?? 😌

My instinct would be "If you have to fail your first time, well, nothing can be done about that...." or "If you have to fail because it's your first time, that's just the way it goes..."
