他の国の言葉 or 他の国の語, which is more appropriate?

Or are they the same thing? More specifically the words 語 and 言葉, are they the same thing? I looked up the definition and they same the same, other than the fact that you wouldn't say something like 日本言葉

Here's a list of valid terms, which may or may not be complete -- just don't use 言語の言葉 for words of a language.

外国語を勉強 or
外国の言語 or
外国の言葉
他の国の言葉 や
他の国の言語

the words 語 and 言葉 are same meaning. but usually 語/go is not used independently, it is used with a noun.
日本語, 外国語, 修飾語, 語呂, 言語

And 言葉/kotoba is used independently.
言葉が悪い。
面白い言葉。
日本の言葉。
