今は
無理に忘れようなんてしない。この気持ちを抱えたまま前にすすめばいい。

"Even now... Its impossible to forget. If I have feelings like this
before I move forward then it will be alright. "

What role does ようなんて play in the sentence, and in the translation. Also is すすめば=進めば? すすめばいい means
"If I move forward its alright"?

忘れよう is the volitional form.

なんて is used to show the preceding noun/phrase/clause is an example. などということ(は) makes sense?

まま means "while (having/holding...)".

~ばいい is originally from a conditional, but it's more likely an idiom "it's OK/alright to~".

Ok. However I am still confused about なんて, do I translate it here, more as" Things like" for example in the sentence

人が人の肉を食うなどということ、自由な流通システムがあれば起こりませんよ.
Things like canabilism do not happen if there is a system of free distribution

No. It's not 忘れないようにする but 忘れようとしない. The negated verb is wrong.
