Hello,

I have a quick question. What is the meaning of なに in this sentence?
なに勝手にわたしのに手出してるのよっ!

The definition that fits the best seems to be "3.[感] 相手に怒りを感じて発する語。" (なに【何】の意味 - goo国語辞書). In the examples from the dictionary, なに has a pause (because of the comma) after it which makes it clear that its meaning is an exclamatory "What!". Is my なに the same even though it doesn't have that pause?

2 なぜ。どうして。

e.g.
なにそんなに急いでるの
なに本気で怒ってんの
なに突然大声だしてんの

Ohh. I saw that meaning, but it had no examples other than the one in classical japanese so I thought it wasn't the right one.

Thank you very much!

Looking at your example, なにそんなに急いでるの, can't this なに also be interpreted as "what"? Because you can add を after it: なにをそんなに急いでるの.

Also, some time ago I asked about 何吠えてるんだ and 何 meant "what" there. Can this 何 also be treated as "why"?

Yes, but the focus of the question is not what the hurry is for but why the addressee is in harry in most cases. The same goes to 何(を)吠えてるんだ.
