I was thinking this meant fortune is picking up/going down or something along those lines?

Because of the word order, it can't "fortune is~" can it?
How about it if was さっさと抜けちまうのがいい ?

I don't even know what 抜けちまう means here because of the different translations it has

吉 is not the object of 抜けちまう. の is a nominalizer, so さっさと抜けちまうの refers to an action "さっさと抜けちまう".

I don't even know what 抜けちまう means here because of the different translations it has
That's because the meaning is different depending on the context. No one can answer your question "what 抜けちまう means" without knowing the context.

マグマ以外には殺風景だが迫力だけはあるな・・・ さっさと抜けちまうのが吉か。 As far as I can see there is no action in the sentence

That's actually an action. The subject of 抜けちまう is the speaker.

The key is that you looked up 抜く in the dictionary instead of 抜ける, right?;)
